(1) Verify your Status of Residence!

Check whether your current status of residence allows you to work or start a business in Japan.

Please consult with me whether you need a change or an acquisition of new status of residence before starting a business.

(2) Do you have information for developing your Business Concept, or BCP?

You will come up with a business idea, examine the feasibility of the idea, and develop a business concept to start a business.

Even if you could start a business, your fund and efforts may go to the drain when you cannot continue your business.

Especially, as for trading, you need to be acquainted with Japanese laws and regulations to import foreign goods.

It is you, yourself who develops a business concept and prepares a BCP (or Business Continuity Plan).

Then, I am ready to provide you with the necessary information on Japanese laws and regulations regarding importing and exporting as well as selling in Japan.

(3) Obtaining Authorization… What's Authorization?  Do I need it?

Some businesses can be started freely, while some others need to take prior procedures at a government administration office to be started.

Let me give some examples of business categories which need "Authorizations". Those are, Travel business, Eating & drinking establishment business, Manpower agency business, Secondhand articles dealer.

Depending on your business category, procedures to apply for, differ.

At first please contact me to know whether your business needs authorization, and when necessary, to know whether you seem to be able to meet the conditions.

As it might take time to apply and obtain the necessary authorization, it is essential to realize relevant requirements and procedures in advance.  Otherwise, you might not start a business as scheduled. 

• You may be confused, since "Authorization" includes various types like Notification, Registration, Permission, Approval, and License. According to the type of authorization, where to apply for is different.

(4) Are you ready to prepare documents needed to start a company?

There are two ways to start a business as a sole proprietorship, or as a corporate entity.

When starting a business as a corporate entity, you may take the form of a stock company (Kabushiki-kaisha in Japanese).

 When you select a stock company, you are required ;

  (1) to create the Articles of Incorporation

  (2) to prepare application documents for registration of Incorporation

(5) You may need to make contract documents when you start a business!

It comes important to confirm the business contents with domestic or foreign business partners in the form of documents such as a sales contract, an agency contract to minimize a future trouble.

(6) Visa Application

There may come necessity to employ a foreigner in Japan or to call a foreigner from your country.

You may try to submit naturalization application.
